Found this amazing dinghy at the St Pete Boat show.  This is a small business that I wasn’t familiar with but the people were super nice and the reviews looked good so I bought the 300 display model to replace my 20 year old West Marine 310 hypalon double floor fiberglass model for our upcoming trip to the Bamamas. This one is approximately 20 pounds lighter with the aluminum hull vs the WM fiberglass model.  With my existing 6hp Mercruiser, it is just shy of being able to plane with the two of us onboard but it zipped around nicely.  Would recommend a bit more HP.  Saving 20 pounds hanging off the back of my 36’ Catalina is huge. There are several features that distinguished this one from the other brands of similar size at the boat show.  First, the feature that really made the decision for us is the molded in swim step.  We dive and snorkel so anything that makes it easier to get back on is really nice! There is also a bow step that has an anchor roller. This step has proved handy for the boarding our sugar scoop transom sailboat. It makes the step from dinghy to boat much shorter.  I also like that the seat is located further aft which allows me to sit comfortably there and operate the motor.   The West Marine seat is centered for rowing which nobody does unless the motor dies. The overall quality looks like this should last at least as long as my old one. The only note I would make is that anyone who has davits fitted for the ubiquitous West Marine model of the same size will need to use the lift point in the forward bow compartment.  This lift point isn’t quite centered in the opening so a length of chain will required as a standard davit line would chafe.  I’ve mentioned this to the builder and I would expect this fine company to correct that on future models. Overall, this appears to a very fine dinghy and the people at the company are very nice and helpful.
